Canada’s national parks are under threat, according to a scientific panel that reported on the parks’ ecological integrity in March, 2000. The panel concluded that the deterioration across the entire system will continue unless action is taken now. The panel’s work corroborates the findings of the 1996 Banff-Bow Valley Study and numerous independent scientists. The recent Fraser Institute report does not tell readers that Banff has more commercial development than the four most heavily used U.S. national parks combined.
